One of the few records this famous jazz violinist ever cut as a leader – a classic side for Verve, recorded with a small group that includes Oscar Peterson, Barney Kessel, Ray Brown, and Alvin Stoller. Tracks are very long and open-ended, with a laidback Verve feel that's a perfect forum for Smith to show off his richly soulful talents on the instrument.
