Andrea

LP (Item 43545) Tower, Mid 60s — Condition: Very Good+

Perfect summer pop! After Murray Wilson was kicked out by his sons, the Beach Boys, he went on to prove to the world that he could create another group that was every bit as good as them. Truth is, he failed, but that doesn't stop the Sunrays from being a fantastic bit of 60's pop surf harmony sounds, noteworthy as much as for their keen attempts to sound like the Beach Boys, as for their failure to not reach the heights that Brian and the other Wilsons did. The songs are totally nutty, too, and the lyrics are more messed up than the Beach Boys' ever were. Our faves include "A Little Dog & His Boy", "Tears In My Eyes", and "Have To Be Myself". Scary proof that Murray have have had more to do with the BB's sound than we all thought!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Mono pressing. Cover has moderate staining on both sides.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
