Coma

LP (Item 434208) MGM, 1977 — Condition: Sealed

A creepy Michael Crichton-directed soundtrack from the 70s! Jerry Goldsmith's excellent score for Coma is done with a moody mix of orchestrations that really underlies the eerie medical themes of the film! The instrumentation is mostly acoustic, but resonates with some nice dreamy 70s touches that come off great – a few sexy slinky moments matches with many more darker ones – sometimes conducted with a weird "watery" sort of quality to the woodwinds that's particularly great! Titles include "Study In Anatomy", "Disco Strut", "Free Ride", "The Long View", "Lucky Patient", "Chance Encounter", "OR 8", and "Love Theme From Coma", in both mellow and disco versions!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a cut corner.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A richly dramatic score by Jerry Goldsmith – originally penned for an early TV mini-series in the 70s, but re-recorded here in a bold new version! Excellent soundtrack work by Jerry Goldsmith – possibly his greatest ever! A bold score for a famous 70s astronaut film – penned by Jerry Goldsmith with almost the same sort of drama he might bring to a war thriller! A dreamy Jerry Goldsmith score for this late George Cukor film that starred Amouk Aimee, Dirk Bogarde, and Robert Forster.
