This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
10 great tracks of southern soul from Joe Simon: "Misty Blue", "Farther Down The Road", "Tennager's Prayer", "Moon Walk Part 1 & Part 2", "Put Your Trust In Me (Depend On Me)", "It's Hard To Get Along", "Hangin' On", "Th ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great follow up to Mille Jackson's classic Caught Up album – but one that's also a key turning point too! The theme here is the same as the album before – with tunes that have a woman "caught up" in love and all of its tangles – but the sound is also bolder, more ... LP, Vinyl record album
Millie Jackson's feelin bitchy – and letting a whole new side of her talents show! After the sweet southern soul sound of her early recordings, the Jackson style takes a sharp shift here – letting a bitchier side show up more strongly, and really setting the tone for the next great ... An obscure soul group, but a great one – equally at home with a fragile harmony tune as they were with more uptempo groovers for the dancefloor! This one and only album from Act One is a perfect illustration of the best two sides of the east coast indie soul scene of the early 70s – ... LP, Vinyl record album
A bit of a disco effort from Millie, given the time, but also a record that still has plenty of nice soul touches – thanks to Brad Shapiro, Millie's longtime partner at the production helm! The album features a great 2 parter with a nice monologue, entitled "What Went Wrong Last Night ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great album filled with hard breaks, tight choppy guitars, and a deep funky sound. This is one of the best early albums by the Nite Liters, and it's filled with great grooves like "Funky-Doo", "Stinkin Charlie", and "K-Jee" – but just about every track is a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wonderfully weird sounds from Lucifer – a record cut during the powerhouse 70s soul years of the Invictus/Hot Wax label, but done with a sound that's much more bluesy and rootsy than any other work for the company! Vocals are by Eugene Smith, who has a cool sort of Bay Area vibe – ... LP, Vinyl record album
A damn great bit of work from the legendary Al Green – maybe one of his best records ever – and in fact, maybe one of greatest soul albums of all time! The set's got a style that's really genre-defining – not the previous southern soul of a few years before, but also not the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Although Jerry Butler had the first hit with "Only The Strong Survive" – way back in the late 60s, when Gamble & Huff were using his career to first forge their new ideas of Philly soul, Billy Paul does a great job with the cut here, taking it into a smooth modern mode that ...
