One of the first strong R&B cuts to go hip hop, with beats that are great, and which mix together perfectly with so many other tracks from the time.  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

What can we say? Despite the stupid appearance of the band, "White Horse" was a classic breakdance/electro track that crossed over so big it had kids in Kansas running out to by parachute pants and squares of linoleum to play along with the kids in the Bronx. One of Randy Brown's greatest cuts ever – a smooth mellow soul track, with a nice little two-step vibe, and a groove that make the hook bite nicely! The cut's got the feel of Tyrone Davis or LJ Reynolds work from the time – with a nice mix of deep and smooth! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Not the major label version of this classic track, but an indie release, plus three other fantastically stripped down house tracks with a wonderfully raw percolating sound! 12-inch, Vinyl record

A nice little modern soul track, with a midtempo bottom heavy groove that sounds straight out of an early 80s roller rink, though less on the disco side of things, leaning a bit more towards the commercial dance groove of 80s groove acts like the Fatback material of the time, or the Gap Band. Great funky Philly! "Let's Clean Up The Ghetto", features a great instrumental working of a track that was also known by a more famous vocal version. This instrumental has some great percussion breakdowns, nice warm keyboard lines, and some sweet horn solos. 12-inch, Vinyl record
