Outlaw/I'm About Somebody

12-inch (Item 421896) RCA, 1982 — Condition: Very Good+
Out Of Stock

12-inch, Vinyl record

✈
It's the early 80s and War's still going strong, with the disco influenced title track to their Outlaw LP, and the slower, spacier number on the flip.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

"Got To Be Real" is one of the most amazing tracks of all time. Not only did it bridge the disco and soul worlds at the time, but through hip hop sampling, it also became an essential old school classic. Still sounds great today, and it's a cut that we can never get enough of. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Hot Shot (voc, inst)
West End, 1978. Near Mint-
Karen's big cut, the only one we'll remember her for, and a big campy track in its day. Served up here on an original West End single, with vocal and instrumental versions both stretching past the 8 minute mark. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Warner, 1984. Near Mint- (pic cover)
One of Prince's biggest tunes ever – and a track that still sounds surprisingly great to our ears these days – funky, chunky, and completely catchy – with a hook that shouldn't go over so well, but really sends the tune home time and time again! "17 Days" is great too ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Mick Jackson

Weekend (voc, inst)
Atco, 1978. Near Mint-
A great remake of the Wet Willie hit – one that's got a soaring, strutting clubby feel that's totally wonderful! The tune's a superb anthem from the old days – and although the hook's a bit commercial, it still sounds plenty great to us after all these years! 12-inch, Vinyl record
MCA, 1993. Near Mint-
Promo only live version with the Beasties on vocals. 12-inch, Vinyl record
