The record's got a gritty, nitty kind of feel that easily makes it one of Wilson's best – and with backing that includes Chips Moman on guitar, Spooner Oldham on piano and organ, and Roger Hawkins on drums, Pickett could almost sit the record out. But instead of taking it the easy way, he even outdoes the combo with a really hard-wailing performance of his own!
