Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind

LP (Item 41541) United Artists, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good
Of all their early harmony soul contemporaries, Little Anthony and the group were one of the few to really stick to a solid vocal style – working here even at a late date with an approach that can still take our breath away! The album's a mixture of uptempo 60s soul tracks and other smoother numbers that really point the way towards the east coast harmony sound of the early 70s – and with production and arrangements by Teddy Randazzo, the band's vocals are in perfect hands to handle both styles equally well. Titles include "The Ride", "Summer's Coming In", "You Bring Me Down", "Easy To Be Hard", "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind", and "Goodbye Goodtimes".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original stereo pressing. Back cover has an ink stamp, light stains and some tearing in the bottom of the paste-on.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Willie Tee

Anticipation
United Artists, 1976. Very Good+
Mid 70's album of funky soul tracks cut by ex-Gator Willie Tee, with a number of other members of the Gators, for United Artists. Don't go thinking that it's raw New Orleans soul, though, because the sound is a lot more polished, with more of a 70's modern groove to it. Willie's still got some ... LP, Vinyl record album

War did the music for this funky soundtrack to an early Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs film, and although most of the stuff on here is just typical War stuff, there's one track called "Flying Machine" that's a long funky chase scene-type track that's worth the price of the album alone!
