Detroit had plenty of great harmony groups in the 60s – but by the early 70s, The Detroit Emeralds were right on top – a feat that was easy to do with work this great! The trio have a fantastic approach here – a bit of the psychedelic soul sound of the Norman Whitfield generation, but also some warmer, sweeter harmonies too – a bit of an east coast vibe that really stands out – and which is done by the group at a level that's way better than most of their contemporaries!
