This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Beautiful duo soul from the all-time great Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway – released right around the time of Donny's tragic passing! The set was co-produced by Eric Mercury and Flack – and it has a lot of great vocals from Roberta, with as masterfully paired with Donny as always ... LP, Vinyl record album
Classic heavy soul from Wilson – with some great production from Tommy Cogbill, and a nice raw southern sound. The record features 3 strong early Bobby Womack tracks – "I'm In Love", "Jealous Love", and "I've Come A Long Way" – plus Pickett's own ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent album of Barry White-styled instrumentals – put together by Barry's right hand man Gene Page, and produced by Barry himself! The record's one of the best that Gene Page ever cut – apart from his seminal blacksploitation soundtracks – and it's very much in the mode of ... LP, Vinyl record album
An album in the kind of "between the hits" years for The Spinners featuring lead vocalist Phillipe Wynne. The sound here isn't as right-on or soaringly confident as in earlier years – but there are some nice moments. Titles include "You're All I Need In Life", "Toni ... LP, Vinyl record album
A legendary concert from 1971 – one that features Wilson Pickett, Ike & Tina Turner, The Staple Singers, Les McCann & Eddie Harris, The Voices Of East Harlem and others joining forces for an epic concert held in Ghana, West Africa! Tracks include "Land Of 1000 Dances" and ... LP, Vinyl record album
Aretha Arrives in great style – and a mixture between her earlier vocal jazz years at Columbia, and her later southern soul sides of the 60s! Arif Mardin is already arranging Aretha's work at this point, and the backing group includes southern soul studio giants like Spooner Oldham, Tommy ... LP, Vinyl record album
The sound of Wilson Pickett is the sound of soul – bursting out here proudly in a classic session that features production from Rick Hall and the Fame Studios team! The record's got a gritty, nitty kind of feel that easily makes it one of Wilson's best – and with backing that includes ... LP, Vinyl record album
It's hard to challenge the genius of The Coasters at this point in their career – as the vocal group moves with razor-sharp changes and boundless wit – all set to hip production from the team of Lieber & Stoller! There's some wonderful lesser-known gems by the group here – ... LP, Vinyl record album
A free soul classic from the Dalton & Dubarri team – smooth and sweet soul with a nice slick finish, and a real talent for coming up with a catchy hook! A few cuts get a bit disco, in a bad way, but there's plenty of great midtempo numbers that sound as great as the earlier work by the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Great later work by Isaac Hayes – working here in a post-Stax, post-ABC mode that has him forging a smooth soul sound that's really great! The album's not disco, but more of an extension of Ike's baroque approach to arranging – with subtle use of strings and keyboards, in a real Philly ... LP, Vinyl record album
Later Dennis Coffey, but still with some groovy tracks, even though the production's a bit smoother and a little faster than his early stuff. With "Funk Connection", "Back Home", and "Wings of Fire". The guitar's still out front, and the whole thing's written and ... LP, Vinyl record album
