LP (Item 409314) Oti (Nigeria), 1980 — Condition: Near Mint-
Just Sold Out!

LP, Vinyl record album

❔
A great set – one that features two long Ju Ju numbers from Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey and His Inter Reformers Band – "Oba Sijuade" and "Ogunpa Flood Disaster".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(UK pressing. Cover has a light bump in one corner – vinyl is great!)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

An excellent Bollywood soundtrack – with lots of funky sitar, wild vocals, and some very nice grooves! A tremendous overview of Carribean sounds from the 50s through the 70s – served up with exactly the kind of depth and care we've come to expect from the folks at Soul Jazz Records! The collection goes way past the obvious – and way past any obvious cliches as well – to really dig ... LP, Vinyl record album

A great album – even if Miriam's not in as many voices as promised by the title! (Who do they think she is – Rich Little?) The recording quality appears to be live – as the tracks have an open jamming style, with Miriam singing in that rich, folksy style of her early years, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lumumba

Lumumba
A&M, 1974. Near Mint-
Very nice bit of African funk from Ghana, recorded in LA, but with a nice hard sound that's sort of like some of the good Hugh Masekela LPs, and less like the sort of watered-down world music stuff you'd expect from A&M. There's lots of nice moments with good drum parts, and the group's also ... LP, Vinyl record album

An oft-overlooked funky soul gem from the incredible Roy Ayers – taking turns with both uptempo material and more smoothed out soul sounds – all done with Roy's trademark jazzy approach to the dancefloor! Philadelphia International, Early 70s/1976. Near Mint-
