Judge Not

LP (Item 408168) Musicworks (Jamaica), 1984 — Condition: Very Good

Three nice lengthy tracks each from these two reggae greats, produced by Gussie Clarke. Dennis turns in "Crazy List", "Judge Not" and "Deceiving Girl", Gregory performs "Live & Love", "Street Walker" and "Inner City Lady".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Greensleeves pressing.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

An excellent late 90s dancehall compilation, that features a variety of artists and rhythms, unlike a lot of the monotonous collections that seem to make the rounds more often now. 13 tracks in all, with nice bouncing tracks by Bobby Digital, Steely & Clevie, Black Scorpio and others: Rayvon ... Legend
Island, 1970s. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the best-selling albums ever from Bob Marley – a classic collection of work from his all-too-short career – and one that's gone onto become as famous as Marley's individual records themselves! The collection really allows all the classics to resonate strongly, in a track order ... LP, Vinyl record album

Third World

You've Got The Power
Columbia, 1982. Near Mint-
After leaving Island and moving onto Columbia, Third World got a bit more slick, and continued to work a reggae/pop/soul groove. This record's not a bad one, in fact, it's a pretty respectable crossover effort. Stevie Wonder collaborated with the group on the 2 best tracks, "Try Jah ... LP, Vinyl record album

Second volume of sweet, soulful dubs, with Harry Mudie turning over the choicest pieces from his catalog of rhythms to the great King Tubby to dub up, and he does so in fine, fine form. Tubby's respectful but still radical reworking of these numbers is one of our favorite, though lesser known dub ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Bob Marley & The Wailers – Live
Island, 1975. Near Mint-
A great global showcase for the growing power of Bob Marley – an excellent live set recorded in London in 1975, and a date that shows Bob and The Wailers working with the crowd in this really universal spirit! The group's almost got a funkier current here than on some of their studio record ... LP, Vinyl record album

Expansions
Blue Note, Late 60s. Very Good
A really mindblowing session from McCoy Tyner – perfectly titled "Expansions" to showcase the change in his style at the time! The record is one of Tyner's first larger group efforts – and is a brilliant example of the expansion of his talents in the post-Coltrane years ... LP, Vinyl record album
