12-inch, Vinyl record

✈

Very nice 12" single that features 2 hard-to-find mixes of this First Choice club classic! Norman Harris produced and arranged, and Shep Pettibone did the remixes!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Salsoul, 1982. Near Mint-
A really righteous classic from Inner Life – soaring to the rafters with great lead vocals from Jocelyn Brown! The tune's got a funky guitar riffing undercurrent that works well with the smooth Salsoul production – just the right blend of funk and disco to make it never grow old! 12-inch, Vinyl record
Salsoul, 1976. Very Good
2 excellent bicentennial grooves from Salsoul, both pumped up nicely in the mix by Tom Moulton. Double Exposure's "My Love Is Free" combines equal parts harmony soul with an uplifting mid 70s Philly club vibe, while Salsoul's "It Don't Have To Be Funky To Be A Groove" is a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Chicago Connection, 1986. Very Good (pic cover)
A nice soulful bit of Chicago house – with very heavy drums, and great vocals by Jimi Polo! The cut's got a nice hook, and has that crossover sound that got house played more than usual on the Chicago soul stations. All mixes are good, except for the horrible "celebrities like it" ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Atlantic, 1990. Near Mint- (pic cover)
One of the first strong R&B cuts to go hip hop, with beats that are great, and which mix together perfectly with so many other tracks from the time. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Mercury, 1981. Very Good
THE standout cut from Central Line – a track so big that it got the group noticed over here on our side of the Atlantic, and forever gave them a place in the hallowed halls of 80s groove! The tune chugs along at a great roller skating rhythm – with some spare use of keyboards that ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
