This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
War delivers the word, and a whole lot more as well – that amazing blend of styles that always made the group way more than just the sum of its parts! The classic groove is very firmly in place here – a great style that mixes jazz funk with a freer jamming style borrowed from Latin ... LP, Vinyl record album
Raw soul, indeed – a term that could have been coined for James Brown's vocal approach, and which probably makes one of its first appearances here on a record! The album's kind of a grab bag of earlier sides that James recorded for King, but it's a perfect showcase for his amazing sound in ... LP, Vinyl record album
Marvin Marvin Marvin – just when we thought you couldn't impress us any more, you took it to the next level! Trouble Man is a heck of a wonderful surprise from an artist that most folks really only knew as a singer – a fantastically funky blacksploitation soundtrack, conceived and ... LP, Vinyl record album
Jeffrey Osborne's really emerging strongly here in the mellow soul mode – especially on the album's two great ballad cuts, "Concentrate On You" and "We Both Deserve Each Other", both of which are smooth mellow steppers with a modern soul approach that's slightly less ... LP, Vinyl record album
A lasting classic from the funky female foursome who were one of the biggest acts on Motown in the mid-80s – working here with super tight production and arrangements from Rick James – who also wrote all the songs on the record too! The girls' look is a bit dated, but their sound has ... LP, Vinyl record album
Almost a "greatest hits" of greatest hits albums – one of those collections that almost sold more copies than all the full albums by the artist – forever earning Sly & The Family Stone a place in record collections around the globe! All the hits are here, laid out back to ... LP, Vinyl record album
An amazing record that stunned the world almost as much as Marvin's previous effort, What's Going On. Like that one, this album's an amazingly unified batch of tracks – with a visionary message about sex and love that is as honest and bracing as the politics and social commentary of his ... LP, Vinyl record album
We only know Karen from this one album, but she's got a heck of a nice voice – one with a full range and jazzy richness that should have made her a much bigger star. There's traces here of the jazzy 70s pop of Joni Mitchell or Maria Muldaur – although the album itself is produced with ... LP, Vinyl record album
A sweet 70s session from The Chambers Brothers – one that's more electric and less rootsy than before, and which gets some nice pop soul arrangements from Tony Camillo! Camillo brings in a compressed groove that could almost get the group on the radio – losing the folksy and rock-ish ... LP, Vinyl record album
Some of jazz's most sensitive artists get together in a lyrical set of light-handed ditties. Shearing's piano is a surprisingly nice complement to the vibes/bass/guitar sound of The Montgomery Brothers – and the group is augmented by some nice Latin percussion. Tracks are short, and titles ... LP, Vinyl record album
A beautiful classic from mid 60s Verve – and the kind of a session that we wouldn't have expected to come off so well! In a style they were using with older artists at the time, Verve brought Ella and Duke into the studio together – with Duke's band and compositions providing the ... LP, Vinyl record album
This is probably the best album ever cut by one of the lesser-known Prestige jazz funk organ players – and it's got a nice group that includes Virgil Jones and Houston Person, along with Ivan Boogaloo Joe Jones and Bernard Purdie. The title cut – "Sure Nuff, Sure Nuff" – ... LP, Vinyl record album
