Rocky & Bullwinkle meet Frankie Knuckles on this great mid 80s Chicago house single!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Label has some marker obscuring the track info.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Trax, 1980s. Very Good
A classic early bit of Chicago Latin house that needs no introduction in these parts. Super stripped down, with some nice Latin-y percussion over the top. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1986. Very Good-
Another great Trax single from Adonis, not quite as Acid sounding as "No Way Out", but a catchy groove nonetheless. You've got to love those 909 handclaps! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Trax, 1987. Very Good
Early tracks on Trax, with a very new wave feel, rather than the acid sound that was dominating at the time. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1986. Good+
A soulful classic from Chicago! "Move Your Body" is a wonderful house tune – one with a warmer groove than usual, and vocals that really drive the track in a great way. Mixed by Chicago legend Ron Hardy, this track needs no introduction around these parts, and we'd be surprised if ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1988. Very Good-
Classic from the Chicago house scene – and still a bonafide club floor shaker! "Get The Hole" is a persistent jam that continues on in the "Acid Hole" version – getting more beats focused as it builds. "Under Control" and it's dub version on the flip are ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Trax, 1986. Good+
If you ask us, this is Larry Heard's finest moment, combining the raw energy of early Chicago house with a jazzy sensibility, warm tones on the keyboards and a spare approach that gives all the elements room to breath. A modern classic! 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1986. Good
Great mid 80s Chicago house, very acid, too. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1985. Good+
A rare single by Ron Hardy, one of the architects of the Chicago House sound, but more through his legendary DJ work at the Music Box than records. 12-inch, Vinyl record
Trax, 1987. Very Good-
Four tracks of seminal chicago house from Lidell Toownsell and crew, stripped down without too much acid influence, but still great! 12-inch, Vinyl record
Liberty, 1981. Near Mint- (pic cover)
Early 80s slap bass funk – of the sort that was showing up on the Liberty label at the time, and which here comes across pretty well. The best cut is "Love Is On The One", which has a catchy sing-song groove, and a very nice hook. Both tracks from the Point of Pleasure LP. 12-inch, Vinyl record
RCA, 1982. Near Mint-
A sweet sweet groove from Odyssey – tripping along in a snapping 80s beat supported by some "wheeet" keyboard work! The hook is very tasty – sung along by the group with a really nice little swing that makes the tune more playfully soulful than you'd guess at first! "Lov ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
