Nasty Rock (voc, inst)

12-inch (Item 382020) Clockwork, 1983 — Condition: Very Good+
Out Of Stock

12-inch, Vinyl record

A great club number from the early 80s, and we're not saying that because we love vocoder vocals so much either. Without as bass heavy an approach as Roger or Zapp, but not quite fully electro either, this mid tempo club number pops along nicely in a midtempo groove that'll stick in your head for days!  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Labels have some pen.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Gold Mind, 1977. Very Good+
"Cheaters" is a fantastic club track – with great east coast Baker-Harris-Young production, great harmonies, and a groove that's half harmony soul and half disco! This 12" single features extended disco mixes of both tracks, too! 12-inch, Vinyl record

One of Larry Levan's biggest crossover moments – as "Don't Make Me Wait" has the Peech Boys breaking out of the Paradise Garage underground, into the mainstream of soul in the early 80s. One of the greatest moments of late Philly – and a dancefloor stormer that never lets us down! The cut's served up here in a stunning 10 minute version – with grooves that go on and on and on, driving the anthemic message of the cut over the top. "I Got The Love" isn't ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Unlimited Touch/D Train

Searching To Find The One/Keep On
Prelude/Unidisc, 1981/1982. Very Good
2 nice early 80s club tracks from Prelude on one 12" reissue. Unlimited Touch's "Searching To Find The One" is a bit more electro than some of the group's earlier work, but a heck of a great little number that still serves up plenty of soul! There's a vibe here that's very much in ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Phone Home (voc, inst)
Columbia, 1982. Very Good+
We've never been sure if Johnny Chingas ever cut a record for Columbia, because we've only known this one on 12" single version, but the cut's strong enough that we'd love to find one if it's out there. A very nice mellow soul groove, with some touches of 80's production, and a sweet soul ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
