Adventure

LP (Item 376455) Elektra, 1978 — Condition: Near Mint-
Also available
Television — Adventure (red colored vinyl pressing) ... LP 21.99

The fantastic second album from Television – a follow up to Marquee Moon that has the group still very much at the top of their game – and which makes a perfect pairing with that legendary debut! The group may not have given us many records over their short span – but Adventure is the kind of record that most groups would have worked years to create – graced with fantastic work from Tom Verlaine, and the kind of guitar sound that opened the door for a whole new generation to explore in the years beyond punk and prog! Titles include "Glory Days", "Foxhole", "Careful", "Carried Away", "The Fire", "Ain't That Nothin", and "The Dream's Dream".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Red label pressing with MCR etch, including the printed inner sleeve. Cover has a cutout hole and a bumped corner.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Marquee Moon
Elektra, 1977. Near Mint-
The masterful debut of Television! Marquee Moon is indisputably one of best records to come out of late 70s NYC. Goodbye & Hello
Elektra, 1967. Good+ Gatefold
Easily one of our favorite albums by Tim Buckley – and a record that really opens up with some key jazzy touches! Buckley's still got his roots in folk here, and his vocals are yet to hit the extremes of Starsailor or Lorca – but there's also a new sense of inflection to the way he ... LP, Vinyl record album

Elektra, 1978. Very Good+
An early moment of genius from Warren Zevon – the kind of record that really set his talents part from the singer/songwriter generation that came before – and made Zevon a key part of a new era of much darker songsmiths! Zevon manages to weave in all these strange moody elements while ... LP, Vinyl record album

Elektra, 1966. Very Good-
Love's first album – a seminal bit of Sunset Strip rock, and every bit as powerful today as it was in the 60s!
