Last Rebel

LP (Item 372681) Capitol, 1971 — Condition: Sealed
An excellent funky rock soundtrack – penned by the team of Jon Lord and Tony Ashton for this groovy Joe Namath film! (Whatever happened to Joe Namath as a movie star? We loved those movies!) The work's performed in a tight small combo hard-rocking mode – with lots of fuzzed up guitar work, plenty of hard-driving percussion, and a really great sound overall that makes the album a blistering batch of instrumentals! A few cuts feature vocals, and the Royal Liverpool Symphony backs up the group on a few cut – but overall the main sound is rocking and funky! Includes the great break track "Graves To The Graveyard", plus "Hanging", "The Last Rebel", "Stage Coach Ride", "Surrender & Up The Hill", "Hollis Women", and "You Me & A Friend Of Mine".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Sealed original pressing! Cover has a cutout hole.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A very groovy heist soundtrack! Vic Mizzy did a rare few albums under his own name – and this soundtrack is a great little gem that mixes jazzy bits with more bossa and Latin inflected numbers. Blade Runner
Full Moon/Warner, 1982. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the best-remembered moments of music from the enigmatic Vangelis – a set that's maybe a bit darker and more moody than some of his other records of the time – thanks to the Blade Runner setting provided by director Ridley Scott!
