Zombies

LP (Item 372408) Parrot, 1965 — Condition: Very Good+

The first US album by The Zombies – a brilliant little record that shows the group as way more than just a Brit Invasion combo! The songs are short, rocking, and nearly all very catchy – but they've got an airy quality that elevates them past simple pop, into the god-like territory that would emerge even more strongly on later work by the group. Includes the hits "Tell Her No" and "She's Not There" – plus "Summertime", "What More Can I Do", "I Don't Want To Know", and "Woman".  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Stereo pressing, ZAL6625-3. Cover has light surface wear, rounded corners, and some aging.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Savoy Brown

Raw Sienna
Parrot/London, Early 70s. Very Good+ Gatefold
A fantastic classic from Savoy Brown – one of those records that shows just why these guys were so great during their short early run! The approach is maybe familiar blues rock, but the sound is also very special – with a great sense of fusion of all the elements, so that vocals, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Love Sculpture

Forms & Feelings
Parrot, 1969. Near Mint-
Wonderful work from Love Sculpture – a heavy British trio from the end of the 60s – and one that features a young Dave Edmunds on guitar! Plastic Ono Band
Apple, 1970. Near Mint-
The first true proper solo album by John Lennon – recorded after a few non-Beatles records with Yoko Ono, and at the same time as Yoko's much wilder album with a similar title! This one, though, is John at his best – very personal and exposed, in similar territory to Paul McCartney on ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rock N Roll
Apple, 1975. Very Good+
John Lennon revisits the rock and roll canon after years of emotionally charged solo material – a move that was partially imposed by legal necessity, but got even more messed up from there – culminating a solid, set of pure Rock N Roll in '75! Warren Zevon

An early gem from Warren Zevon – his first for Asylum and a creative peak – with some of his best remembered songs, and deeper album cuts that are just as great! Zevon's dark sense of humor comes through here, especially on the all time classic "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", but ... LP, Vinyl record album
