Raw Power

LP (Item 358077) Columbia, 1973 — Condition: Good

Iggy & The Stooges — Raw Power ... CD 4.99
Iggy & The Stooges — Raw Power (2LP with David Bowie original 1973 mix and Iggy Pop 1997 mix) ... LP 28.99

One of the wildest records of the early 70s – and it's still pretty darn hard to argue with the power of this one – even if the meddling of the producers are nearly as legendary as the album itself! There's still such a manic energy the original release mix – one that clearly inspired, if not altogether gave birth to the punk scene – and make the album one of those quintessential examples of great art being made under compromising circumstances. Fierceness personified! Includes classics like "Search & Destroy", "Death Trip", "Gimme Danger", "Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell (aka Hard To Beat)", "Raw Power", "Shake Appeal", and "Death Trip".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original US pressing, matrix ending in 2A. NOTE – Vinyl has heat damage towards the center, plays through but with heavy surface noise. Cover is in decent shape however, with some ring & edge wear, and a small split in the bottom seam near the spine.)

Good

  • A record that you'd buy to play, cheap, but which you wouldn't buy for collecting.
  • Will have marks across all parts of the playing surface, and will most likely play with surface noise throughout. May have some other significant flaws, such as residue, or a track that skips.
  • In most cases, a poor quality copy of a very difficult to find record.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

River
Columbia, 1980. Very Good- 2LP
Prime classic Springsteen double album, circa 1980! The River finds Bruce a few years removed from the massive breakthrough that was Born To Run, and seemingly starting to let go of the darker tone of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, though still with some shadows of it. Definitely a creative high ... LP, Vinyl record album

In the past 30 years, this one's gone from being a fierce outpouring of the Bay Area underground, to a cliche of classic rock, to a brilliant example of west coast Latin rock/funk/fusion in action! Chicago III
Columbia, 1971. Very Good- 2LP Gatefold

Aerosmith

Aerosmith
Columbia, 1973. Very Good
The swaggering, hard grooving and hard rocking debut of Aerosmith! While "Dream On" gets as much or more rock radio play than any song should ever need, it's actually pretty easy to overlook just how good the rest of the record is. They may borrow the bluesy swagger of the Stones and ... LP, Vinyl record album

The last album in the classic run of Steely Dan – the final taste we'd have of the group until their surprising revival in the 90s! Zombies
Parrot, 1965. Very Good-
The first US album by The Zombies – a brilliant little record that shows the group as way more than just a Brit Invasion combo!
