LP (Item 35426) Buddah, 1976 — Condition: Sealed
The adult film star who became a chart act – and thanks to some very skillful help from Gregg Diamond, who wrote, produced, and arranged the whole record, the title cut "More, More, More" went onto become a huge dancefloor classic. The album features a 6 minute version of the cut – plus "Fill Me Up", "Call Me", "Party Line", and "Keep It Up Longer".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Still sealed, with some wear and aging, yellowed sticker spot, and loose seam in back. Cover has a small center split in the bottom seam.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Phyllis Hyman

Phyllis Hyman
Buddah, 1977. Very Good+
Far and away our favorite album by Phyllis Hyman – her first, and with lots of the same smooth jazzy soul touches you'd find in her work with Norman Connors! Phyllis is still as sophisticated as she is on later albums, but there's a bit freer style to the record – and Phyllis breaks a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Gladys Knight & The Pips

Imagination
Buddah, 1973. Very Good+
A pivotal album for Gladys Knight and group – as the record features their super-huge hit "The Midnight Train To Georgia", a landmark track that not only had a catchy pop hook, but which spoke volumes about African-American migration in the postwar years. The track's one of those ... LP, Vinyl record album

Something About You
Arista, 1981. Near Mint-
A soaring classic from Angie Bofil – a record that stands as one of the most perfect demonstrations of her upbeat, positive approach to soul! Stephanie Mills

Sweet Sensation
20th Century, 1980. Near Mint-
Stephanie Mills in fine formation here – working with the team of James Mtume and Reggie Lucas, who helped the lady reach the heights of her career in the early 80s! The sound here is catchy and contemporary, but hardly ever too commercial – just relaxed and grooving, in a mode that ... LP, Vinyl record album
Prelude, 1979. Near Mint- 2LP
Excellent underground disco with a groovy French touch! The cover's a bit campy, but the record's got plenty of nice keyboard work, and offsets the coldness of the keys with some soaring strings and warm basslines. The standout cut is "Disco Circus", a 14 minute romp that's pretty darn ... LP, Vinyl record album

I've Got The Cure
Casablanca, 1984. Near Mint-
Bubbling 80s soul from Stephanie Mills – a set that has the singer's vocals really working strongly with some catchy rhythms that nicely balance between the clubs and the charts! John Graas

Coup De Graas
EmArcy, 1958. Near Mint-
One of the weird LPs that French Horn player John Graas made in the 50's, featuring that cumbersome instrument in a set of surprisingly light and loose jazz tracks. Graas' playing on the French Horn is a bit like Gerry Mulligan's on the baritone – that is, he takes these turns and twists ... LP, Vinyl record album

Miles Davis

Sketches Of Spain
Columbia, 1960. Very Good+
A beautiful collaboration between Miles Davis and the great Gil Evans – and perhaps the most perfectly realized of all their projects!
