Juicy Fruit (voc, fruity inst mix)

12-inch (Item 352695) Epic, 1983 — Condition: Very Good

A certified 80s groove/slow jam classic, and one of our all time Mtume favorites, from the period where he'd really established himself as a force to be reckoned with in commercial soul production!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A long mix of Sade's excellent groover "Paradise" – a warmly bubbling tune that features her great vocals cascading over the top of gently percolating rhythms! There's a definite dancefloor groove here – but one that's still laidback and mellow – maybe not as jazzy as ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

A real 70s killer from Real Thing – a tune that has a jazzy clubby sound that's very much in the best Earth Wind & Fire mode – right down to the riffing instrumentation and tightly crafted percussion! One of our all-time favorite solo tracks by Michael Jackson – that incredibly catchy tune from the Thriller album – the one with that groovy vocal "Mama Say Mama Sa Ma Ma Ku Sa" chorus! It always sounds a bit silly, but that's part of the appeal – and the tune has a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Epic, 1982. Sealed
We know, this huge hit got well overplayed in its heyday, not to mention still getting thrown into rotation a bit more than some other deserving MJ cuts, but you can't argue with the solid Quincy Jones production that gave this track its top of the charts status! 12-inch, Vinyl record

2 excellent mellow soul tracks from Gwen's last album at TK! Both sides have a strong modern soul sound, and show Gwen pushing way past her earlier style, towards the "Funky Sensation" groove that was right around the corner. 12-inch, Vinyl record
West End, 1982. Very Good
A great later bit of West End – a wicked piece of dancefloor funk that snaps bass and beat together with a strong 80s groove! The tune builds nicely before the vocals even come in – working in some cool moogy touches, a TV-style sax solo, and then hitting some great lead vocals from ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
