One of the better records by this British funk ensemble from the 70s – with a sound that's tight and choppy, in the mode of early Average White Band, and with a very similar appeal. Lots of fast guitar work in a catchy groove – with rolling drums and bass underneath. Tasty funk cuts ... LP, Vinyl record album
Although Irene Reid later went on to make some recordings that had her in a more rootsy setting, this nice set from the mid 60's features her deep soul voice amidst classy jazz-based arrangements by Oliver Nelson.
