This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Sublime second generation soul from Brenda & The Tabulations – a sweet set of Philly grooves, recorded at Sigma sound with help from Norman Harris, Bobby Eli, and John Davis! The album's every bit as groove-heavy as you'd expect from work by those dancefloor heavyweights – and the ... LP, Vinyl record album
An obscure little funky group from Flint, Michigan, one with a tight ensemble sound that's very much in the Earth Wind & Fire mode – complete with a really great horn section, plenty of bass-heavy grooves a the bottom, and a relatively spiritual feel that comes through strongly on the ... Arguably the last true moment of genius in Michael Jackson's career – a record that sold a bazillion copies around the world – and for plenty good reason! One of the greatest crossover albums of the 80s – and the record that catapulted Prince very firmly into the mainstream! There's a tightness here that surpasses even that of Prince's early classics for Warner Brothers – an unabashed love of a pop hook that makes for some incredibly ... LP, Vinyl record album
Electro 80s grooving from southern funk act Freedom – a record that shows that even the Malaco scene could pick up on bass licks, synth drums, and other production techniques being used heavily up north at the time! However, given the strength of Freedom's overall sound, the album still ... LP, Vinyl record album
Feel Good is a tight little set that shows Ike Turner sitting equally on the fence between funk and rock – sometimes kickin into the kind of tightly snapping rhythms heard on his best late 60s work, at other points strutting into more of a guitar-based groove that he was using for the ... Produced by Frederick Knight – with titles that include "Lay Another Log On The Fire", "I Just Don't Know", "Boomerang Love", "50/50", "Never Let Me Go", and "I Need To Love You". LP, Vinyl record album
An obscure little soul set from 80s Chicago – featuring songwriting, arrangements, and production by the enigmatic Bandit – on titles that include "Playing In The Water", "Amber's Song", "Modern Day Lover", "Chasing My Dream", "Lady D", ... LP, Vinyl record album
A seminal statement from drummer Jack DeJohnette – a musician who'd already made a pretty big impact in the years before this set – but who really seemed to take off with his New Directions group on ECM! Every player in the lineup is a key sonic pioneer on their instrument – John ... LP, Vinyl record album
Heavy duty Latin Soul from Johnny Rivera – an excellent bandleader from the late 60s, with a sound that's a lot harder than you might guess from the Tijuana Brass in the title! True, Johnny's group's got a lot of work on horns – but in a style that's like the best of the boogaloo ... LP, Vinyl record album
