This Is Sinatra!

LP (Item 3425) Capitol, Early 50s — Condition: Very Good+
This Is Sinatra indeed – a wonderful collection of singles, and a near-lost album to the shifting sands of time! The record wasn't one of Frank's "album concepts" for Capitol, and has since been dismantled in the catalog – but for many in the 50s, this was one of THE Sinatra albums – overflowing with beautiful early singles that marked his initial comeback years for Capitol. Nelson Riddle and Billy May conduct – and titles include "Love & Marriage", "Young at Heart", "Learnin the Blues", "Tender Trap", "The Gal That Got Away", "South Of The Border", and more.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A really great later album from Frank Sinatra – one in which he takes on material from Rod McKuen, which turns out to be a perfect setting for the mature, introspective quality that could make Frank so great during this time! Swingin Affair
Capitol, 1957. Near Mint-
A Swingin Affair indeed – as the album's one of our favorite ever from Frank's Capitol years! Nelson Riddle shows here that he can be just as great on the uptempo numbers as he is on the ballads – and casts Sinatra's full rich vocals into a great set of older swinging tunes. Frank ...
