A soaring spiritual jazz session from Art Blakey – one of his early 70s killers for Prestige Records – all done in a very different mode than his 60s material for Blue Note! The vibe here is more modal and searching than before – maybe no surprise, as the group features Woody Shaw on trumpet, Carter Jefferson on tenor, and Cedar Walton on both acoustic piano and Fender Rhodes!
