Dues Paid In Full – ZZ Hill's Greatest Hits

LP (Item 33799) Kent/United, 1972 — Condition: Very Good
Great stuff from ZZ! Although you always see vinyl of ZZ's later work, it's always pretty hard to find this great stuff from the old days – when ZZ was working in a style that mixed southern soul with some funky blues, and which stands along with some of the best deep soul of the late 60s. Titles include "Happiness Is All I Need", "Hey Little Girl", "I Found Love", "What More", "That's It", "Everybody Has To Cry", and "If I Could Do It All Over".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Rudy Ray Moore

Sensuous Black Man
Kent, Early 70s. Very Good+
Rudy Ray Moore cut some mighty raunchy records in his time – but this one may well the be the raunchiest, and maybe the funkiest too! The album's an instruction of "the proper way to make love to a lady" – but done in true Rudy Ray style, with very down-to-earth language that ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rudy Ray Moore's second album, and almost hipper than the first – thanks to some key musical backings from The Fillmore St Soul Rebellion! Rudy Ray Moore

Dolemite For President
Kent, 1972. Near Mint-
Rudy Ray Moore takes the White House – or at least tries to – in this cool 1972 album that must have been a great antidote to the campaigns of Richard Nixon and George McGovern! The set starts with Rudy running his way through a whole bunch of campaign issues – including "Fre ... LP, Vinyl record album

An obscure late 60s session that has R&B genius Roy Milton fronting a small group led by Johnny Otis, and featuring a young Shuggie Otis on guitar! One of the great End LPs by The Flamingos, who at this point were at their peak, and were recording with these amazing studio arrangements by Sammy Lowe. Lots of cool stuff in the same vein as "I Only Have Eyes For You", like "Besame Mucho", "You Belong To My Heart", ... LP, Vinyl record album
