An overlooked solo gem from Eddie Kendricks – recorded at a time when he was years past his solo Motown fame, but still burning strong on Atlantic Records! The set was recorded down in Alabama, and gives Eddie a slightly different setting – one that unlocks some really rich aspects of his vocals, but also keeps things in a mature, modern mode as well! The Controllers provide vocal support, and the Muscle Shoals Horns add in some musical flourishes as well – but Kendricks is still the main charm of the album, as his vocals crackle wonderfully on well-penned tunes by 70s soul maestros like Lou Courtney, Ronn Mattlock, and the team of Holland Dozier Holland. There's a new groove that's a real shift from the boogie of Eddie's 70s albums – a nice groove that sounds especially great on the midtempo numbers. Titles include "Looking For Love", "I'm In Need Of Love", "I Don't Need Nobody Else", "I Need Your Lovin", and "In Love We're One". © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these.
