Call Me Goodie

LP (Item 33529) Total Experience, 1982 — Condition: Very Good+

80s groove soul, produced by War's Lonnie Simmons, and with a style that mixes goofy funk and better mellow ballads. The funky stuff kind of grates on us – and is in that post P-funk bass-heavy mode. The mellow tracks are pretty nice, though – and at their best moments, they have a jazzy style that makes up for less than great vocals. Includes "You And I", "LA", "Goodie", and "Come Into My Life".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has wear and some waviness from moisture.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Together Records, 1969. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
Very weird bit of stoner rock with a slight soul edge, and kind of a rock version of the Isaac Hayes baroque approach to pop covers. Danny Cox performs a number of Dylan and Beatles tunes – like "Dear Prudence", "My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Baby Blue", "Hey ... LP, Vinyl record album

Warner, 1972. Sealed
A great post-Scepter album by Dionne Warwick – one that still has her working with Burt Bacharach, but at a level that's somehow more mature, more adult than even before!
