This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A fantastic tribute to the great Polish soundtrack composer Krzysztof Komeda – recorded in 1972 for MPS records by a group of Eastern European modernists that were among some of his closest associates! Players include the great trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, who also plays piano on the set; ... LP, Vinyl record album
Funky fusion from Jeremy Steig – still sounding pretty darn great here, although a bit freer than on some of his earlier albums. The great Eddie Gomez is still working with Jeremy here – which is one of the reasons the record sounds so great, as Eddie's bass work is deep and soulful, ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the few sides ever cut as a leader by west coast clarinetist Bill Smith – and a pretty groovy session that has the group performing jazz versions of folk tunes, a gimmick that was used briefly around the same time by players that included Harold Land and Benny Bailey. The quartet ... LP, Vinyl record album
Excellent mid 70s duet jazz from pianist Dave Brubeck & alto Paul Desmond! Duets 1975 is a nicely laidback work from the duo – playing here with no other accompaniment, in a spare set of material that's incredibly fragile and intimate – and all the better for that. The move is a ... LP, Vinyl record album
A rare treat from Zoot Sims – an album of soprano sax material, recorded in striking contrast to his more familiar tenor! The sound is oddly more traditional than usual – and unlike many other players in the 70s, Sims doesn't use the soprano in a Coltrane-inspired mode, but in a way ... LP, Vinyl record album
Hmm . . . We're not sure that Pete Brown ever got much in the way of singing lessons – but it was always that unique voice that made him such a standout in the British scene of the early 70s! This 2LP set brings together rare material – with Battered Ornaments and Piblokto, and other ... LP, Vinyl record album
