LP, Vinyl record album

Classic Philly Spinners – with Philippe Wynne on lead vocals, and Thom Bell arranging and producing with that hit sound he gave the group during the 70s! The record may not of given the band as many hits as some of the others, but it's got an excellent Philly sound – with backing by MFSB, and work by Bobby Eli on guitar. Tracks include "Honest I Do", "Just As Long As We Have Love", "Sweet Love Of Mine", "Love Or Leave", and "I Don't Want To Lose You". (In the gatefold cover with fully intact die-cuts. Cover has light wear.)  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

We realize that there are many different interpretations of the standard grades used for pre-owned vinyl record albums & CD, so we thought we'd offer you the ones that we are working with, so you have an idea what we mean when we give the grade for a non-new item on our pages.

Used Vinyl Grades

Below are stated conditions for a used vinyl records at Dusty Groove. Grading for the cover should be assumed to be near (within a "+" or "-") the grading for the vinyl. If there is significant divergence from the condition of the vinyl, or specific flaws, these will be noted in the comments section of the item. However, please be aware that since the emphasis of this site is towards the music listener, our main concern is with the vinyl of any used item we sell. Additionally, please note that all of our records are graded visually; considering the volume of used vinyl we handle, it is impossible for us to listen to each record. If we spot any significant flaws, we make every attempt to listen through them and note how they play.

The following grading conditions apply to the vinyl component of an album or single:

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

An album in the kind of "between the hits" years for The Spinners featuring lead vocalist Phillipe Wynne. The sound here isn't as right-on or soaringly confident as in earlier years – but there are some nice moments. Titles include "You're All I Need In Life", "Toni ... LP, Vinyl record album

A sweet sweet set from The Spinners – and a record that's more "today" than "yesterday", given the tight 70s arrangements from Thom Bell! Bell's Philly approach is still perfect for the group – unlocking their harmonies in very different ways than back in their ... LP, Vinyl record album

A fascinating little record by The Spinners – and a real contrast to some of their other Atlantic albums! The group's past the true glory of their early Philly days, but they are still working here with Thom Bell – who's keeping up the strident groove approach that always worked well with the group's harmonies. Includes the tracks "One Man Wonderful Band", "Once You Fall In ... LP, Vinyl record album

Killer late 70s work from Aretha Franklin – and a set that features production by Curtis Mayfield, in a style that's quite similar to his work with the lady on the Sparkle soundtrack! The long-overdue full length debut from Phillip Mitchell – an artist who cut some great singles over the course of the 70s, and also wrote a fair bit of classics for other, bigger name acts! Excellent work from this one-off group arranged and produced by Vince Montana!
