Was there ever a better harmony soul group than Blue Magic? Hearing a record like this, it's hard to think so – and the album's pure east coast magic all the way through! The group still manage to keep the fragile quality that made their first work so great, but they've also got a wonderfully confident approach too – using arrangements from Norman Harris, Bobby Eli, and Vince Montana to soar with a Philly proudness that's totally great – never disco or club, but with a full, rich quality that's totally great.
