Yesterday's Dreams

LP (Item 30301) Motown, 1968 — Condition: Very Good+
A mix of pop and soul – but in the hands of the Four Tops, just about any song takes on a new soulful life! The record features their minor hit "Yesterday's Dreams" – plus groovy versions of "Sunny", "Never My Love", "Daydream Believer", and "By The Time I Get To Phoenix". Also includes nice lesser-known material like "Can't Seem To Get You Out Of My Mind", "Once Upon A Time", and "I'm In A Different World".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Motown, 1960s. Near Mint-
Given how much you hear this sort of stuff on the radio, you could easily forget that the Four Tops are actually a heck of a great vocal group, with harmonies that blew away many of their contemporaries, and which keep their work shining long past the hits. Motown, 1984. Near Mint-
Kind of a "best of plus" set from Rick James – featuring some of his older work for Motown, plus a few new numbers to round out the set! A smoking live performance from Diana Ross – a double-length set that offers up the lady in all full aspects of her glory! Willie Hutch

Fully Exposed
Motown, 1973. Very Good+
A great selection of laidback and electric grooves, done here with plenty of great work on hollow-body electric guitar, which adds a nice raspiness to the instrumentation, and creates the same sort of vibe you'd hear on Willie's best soundtrack work. The record's got a great cover of "I Wanna ... LP, Vinyl record album

Havin A House Party
Motown, 1977. Very Good+
The last Motown album of the 70s for Willie Hutch – and his last LP for the label before comback to the label in the mid 80s!
