Yesterday's Dreams

LP (Item 30301) Motown, 1968 — Condition: Sealed

A mix of pop and soul – but in the hands of the Four Tops, just about any song takes on a new soulful life! The record features their minor hit "Yesterday's Dreams" – plus groovy versions of "Sunny", "Never My Love", "Daydream Believer", and "By The Time I Get To Phoenix". Also includes nice lesser-known material like "Can't Seem To Get You Out Of My Mind", "Once Upon A Time", and "I'm In A Different World".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Still sealed! Cover has a bumped corner and a cutout hole.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Four Tops Live
Motown, 1966. Very Good-
One of the hardest, rawest Four Tops album on 60s Motown – a unique live session, recorded at the Roostertail Nightclub in Detroit – with a sound that shows that the Tops could maybe shine even more away from the studio! Four Tops

Changing Times
Motown, 1970. Sealed
A very hip album from the Four Tops – cut with kind of a political/social edge, and a heavy vibe that was similar to what the Temptations had been using on some of their important albums for Motown at the end of the 60s. In fact, this one's got so much of that righteous Temps vibe that we ... LP, Vinyl record album

A classic set by The Originals – one of Motown's best second-generation soul groups, with a sound that rivaled the best of the indie sweet soul groups of the late 60s and early 70s – those fragile harmonies and personal qualities, yet presented here with the sharper finish you'd expect ... Ode To My Lady
Motown, 1975. Very Good
An excellent soul album from the great Willie Hutch! The record's got more of a vocal focus than some of Willie's other albums – and his rich voice is perfectly set up in some sweet and soulful arrangements that have a full sound and a classy finish, but still a raw edge that keeps things ... An early collection of singles from one of Motown's first standout vocal groups – the mighty mighty Marvelettes, one of those groups who put a rough edge on the female trio sound! Released in the same year as City Of Angels, this set was also produced by Freddie Perren, and shares the same polished feel to the groove that he provided on that outing, but without the big chart hits.
