Yesterday's Dreams

LP (Item 30301) Motown, 1968 — Condition: Very Good+

A mix of pop and soul – but in the hands of the Four Tops, just about any song takes on a new soulful life! The record features their minor hit "Yesterday's Dreams" – plus groovy versions of "Sunny", "Never My Love", "Daydream Believer", and "By The Time I Get To Phoenix". Also includes nice lesser-known material like "Can't Seem To Get You Out Of My Mind", "Once Upon A Time", and "I'm In A Different World".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Reach Out
Motown, 1967. Near Mint-
A classic 60s album by the Four Tops – really one of their better efforts of the period – a record that finds the group working some soulful magic on a couple of their best known tunes, as well as adding a dose of deeper emotion to some hit songs of the time! Rings
Motown, 1974. Sealed
Reuben's second album for Motown – the one in which they actually decided to put his face on the cover, and let folks know he was a blue eyed soul singer! Supremes

Bit Of Liverpool
Motown, 1964. Very Good+
It's always interesting to note the way that Berry Gordy tried to move Motown out of the ghetto of US soul indies, by attempting various moves to realign the music with other spheres bigger than the scope of Detroit soul. Sometimes these moves were clear "loss leaders" that wouldn't ... LP, Vinyl record album

I'm Still Waiting
Motown, 1971. Near Mint-
Early solo work by Diana – mostly in a mode that steps off nicely from her late work with the Supremes, thanks to some expansive production by the Ashford & Simpson team (who also wrote most of the cuts), and arrangements by Paul Riser that mix strings and soul into the sophisticated pre-d ...
