This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
One of Mark Murphy's standout sessions for Muse – a bit more arranged than some of the others, with backings directed by Dave Matthews that bring a nice sort of punch to the session! The tracks are mostly jazz standards, done in vocalese mode – with instrumentation by a small group ... LP, Vinyl record album
Mark Murphy's classic set of tracks dedicated to Kerouac, with Richie Cole filling the role of Bird on alto, and Murphy singing vocalese versions of Parker's tunes, and reading from some of Kerouac's writings. Tracks include "Parker's Mood", "Boplicity", "Bongo Beep", ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of Mark Murphy's first albums – quite different than his later work, but swinging and jazzy as he could always be! Ralph Burns arranged the set, and even at this early point, you can hear what a talent Murphy is – singing with a confident swing that wasn't often the case for male ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of his best for Muse, with a beautiful set of jazzy vocal grooves that includes his reading of "Stolen Moments" (later made famous by United Future Organization), plus "D.C. Farewell" and an excellent version of "Waters of March". Warm and breezy, with that ... LP, Vinyl record album
We're always big fans of Bev Kelly's work, but this album is way hipper than the usual vocal album of its type from the time – thanks to a sweet little lineup that features Pony Poindexter on alto sax and Flip Nunez on piano! The presence of Poindexter's horn is always a treat, on the ... LP, Vinyl record album
From its booze-soaked title cut, to its haunting selection of lonely ballads like "Midnight Sun" and "Stranger Called The Blues", this is one of the most fantastic vocal jazz albums of all time – and a record that we'd recommend instantly to anyone! June Christy has an ... LP, Vinyl record album
Amazing stuff, and easily one of June's greatest albums – even if it is an unusual one! The format here is a far cry from the boozier modes of June's earlier career – as the tunes on the set are mostly children's songs, redone as jazzier numbers by June and the Joe Castro Quartet ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the most obscure albums ever from the groovy vocal team of Jackie Cain and Roy Kral – and one of the most compelling, too! The duo take on songs from two older musicals for the set – but completely transform them with their playful, inventive approach to arrangements – a ... LP, Vinyl record album
The title's no lie – as the album has Sarah Vaughan exploding out right from the very first note – really swinging with Benny Carter arrangements that are filled with playful colors and grooves! The style's different than some of the moodier, mellow albums that Vaughan cut at the time ... LP, Vinyl record album
Incredible early work from Jackie & Roy – one of their sublime 50s classics on ABC, done in a style that's even groovier than their sessions for Storyville! The whole thing's upbeat, lively, and extremely cheery – a perfect showcase for the pair's vocalese talents – which are ... LP, Vinyl record album
