This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean,
and not too dirty.
May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play,
but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep.
Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well,
with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song,
but never throughout a whole song or more.
This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times,
but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An early one from James – with a raw R&B groove on both tracks, and shouted vocals that strike right at the core of the songs! "Crazy" has kind of a "Night Train" beat to it – and "Lost Someone" is slower, with a bluesy slow vamp kind of approach that ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
"Prisoner Of Love" is a version of the 50s pop hit – done by James in a style that's still pretty raw, despite the string-heavy backings! "Choo Choo" is a honking instrumental, with a tight R&B groove! 7-inch, Vinyl record
An interesting single from James – featuring his super-huge hit of the mid 60s, but issued on a late 60s King label! The tune's a stone winner as always – and the flip is "mostly instrumental", with a vamp that virtually invented the funky vamp! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Early work by James – nice and soulful! "Man's Man's Man's World" is without introduction – as the song's one of James' biggest hits from the time. "Is It Yes" is equally great – and done in a similar deep soul mellow approach, a bit less over the top, but ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Not the classic version of this well-known tune, but a rare funky take from The Coasters – done during their brief late span at King Records! The groove is great – nice and romping, and graced with their excellent vocals – and the whole thing even includes a bit of a funky flute ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Beautiful soul from The Godfather, recorded in the period immediately after he discovered the choppy choppy guitar riff on the downbeat! Both parts swing hard hard hard, and the band is as tight as a pair of trousers after Thanksgiving! 7-inch, Vinyl record
An undisputed groover! The track's a killer uptempo one from James' later years on King – and it's got this amazing beat that snaps along at a full deep stride. Very nice stuff, and the kind of tight grooving that would show up later in his work with the JBs – done here earlier, with ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
What can we say? "Funky Worm" is a bit of history – a great goofy funky track, and one that's been sampled more times than we can count! It's got the funky granny, nice moogy bits, and a great gimmick that we totally love! "Paint Me" has a great slow-funk groove, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Two tasty disco groovers by this obscure RCA group – both with a nice European flair! "Voce Abousou" is the real winner here – a disco take on the funky samba tune by Antonio Carlos E Jocafi – done a bit smoother than the original, but with a nice dose of soul! 7-inch, Vinyl record
