One of the stars of the hit 70s show Good Times takes a crack at the same crossover TV/soul market that was being exploited by Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs of Welcome Back Kotter and Kim Fields from Facts of Life. Fortunately, as with most of these efforts, there's some good help instrumentally, so that the overall album can take over with 70s grooves where the soul vocals might get a bit weak. Titles include "Higher & Higher", "Song In My Heart", "Number One", "When You're Young & In Love", "Extra, Extra", and "As Long As There's Love (We're Gonna Make It)".  © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Pye, 1975. Very Good
A classic album of jazzed-up funk – the one lasting legacy by this oft-sampled group! 9th Creation originally hailed from west of the Bay Area scene of the 70s – and this album was recorded in Oakland with the same sweet jazzy finish as work by some of the other big Northern California ... Harris Machine
Philadelphia International, 1980. Very Good+
After years of being the genius behind soooo many great Philly recordings, Norman Harris finally got the chance to put out this one and only album of his own in 1980. The sound is uptempo Philly, with nice guitar solos by Norman, and backing female vocals on a number of cuts – and it's ... LP, Vinyl record album

In The Mood
Columbia, 1979. Near Mint-
Our favorite album ever from Tyrone Davis – even if it's completely different than most of his other work too! The set's got a wonderfully smooth feel right from the start – a mellow-grooving, slow-stepping approach that works perfectly for Tyrone's wonderful vocals – pushing ... LP, Vinyl record album
