I Like It (club, radio, dub, celebrities like it)

12-inch (Item 28263) Chicago Connection, 1986 — Condition: Very Good
(pic cover)

A nice soulful bit of Chicago house – with very heavy drums, and great vocals by Jimi Polo! The cut's got a nice hook, and has that crossover sound that got house played more than usual on the Chicago soul stations. All mixes are good, except for the horrible "celebrities like it" mix, which features terrible impersonations of famous voices!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover is stained and wrinkled on back.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A pretty great number from Bernard Wright – much smoother and more R&B than some of his work on GRP/Arista, but a great track with a wonderful 80s groove hook! Sublime mellow soul from Johnny Bristol! "Do It To My Mind" is a warm and wonderful number – one that begins with a smooth intro that mixes strings and rhythm, which then rolls into an incredibly catchy vocal – one of Johnny's best on record, and right up there with our ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Although Oneness Of Juju are best known around here for their avant funky spiritual jazz albums from the mid 70's, they're really best known in clubland for the a-side of this single, "Every Way But Loose".
