This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Moody set of tracks that has Willis' fat tenor sound fronting a little combo on a set of "Italian" standards like "Arrividerci Roma", "Volare", "Al Di La", plus the original "Verdi's Vonce". Bucky Pizzarelli's on guitar, to give the LP a "Neaop ... LP, Vinyl record album
Collection of soul jazz sides cut by vibes player Freddie McCoy for Prestige in at the height of their organ combo years. What this ends up being is a collection of all the title tracks from his LPs, and that's nothing to complain about, with the funky groovers like "Peas & Rice", ... LP, Vinyl record album
A real standout in the catalog of pianist George Wallington – a very cooking live set, recorded at the Cafe Bohemia with an expanded quintet! The record supposedly showcases Wallington's style (or gimmick) – called "The Peck", and explained as a series of incomplete phrases ... LP, Vinyl record album
Prestige reissued this record in 1975 and it includes the whole of Saxophone Colossus as well as parts of Sonny Boy, Sonny Rollins Plays For Bird and Sonny Rollins Plus Four all from 1956. Rollins plays tenor sax and is joined by a stellar bunch of musicians such as Doug Watkins on bass, Max Roach ... LP, Vinyl record album
70s 2-in-1 set that brings together 2 classic early Coltrane sides – the legendary Tenor Conclave session on Prestige, with tenor work by Hank Mobley, Zoot Sims, and Al Cohn; and the moodier Mating Call set, a showcase for the piano genius of Tadd Dameron. Both records are classics – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Gritty grooves from Coleman Hawkins – a set that has the aging tenorist still working in swing-based formation, but with a much blusier tone than on his Verve albums of the decade! The group's a small one – with Hawkins on tenor and Charlie Shavers on trumpet – plus some ... LP, Vinyl record album

Early Sonny Rollins work for Prestige – recorded in the years 1951 and 1953, in a variety of settings! 4 tracks on the album features Rollins blowing with the MJQ, one more has him working with a Miles Davis group, and the last 8 feature a quartet with Kenny Drew, Percy Heath, and Art Blakey. ... A pure statement of being and essence – and one of John Coltrane's spiritual masterpieces from the 60s! The 1965 recording was one of Trane's most adventurous so far – as it featured just one album-length track, building up out of relatively free expressions from Coltrane in the studio ... A rare modern jazz set from the early 60s – noteworthy in that it's one of the few recordings from the time of Chicago tenorist Joe Daley – who works here in a trio with the young Hal Russell on drums! And yes, that's the same Hal that later broke out strongly in the Windy City avant ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great one from Sonny Fortune – done with the fusiony sound he was working so well with at the time, and still filled with a tight conception and an incredible group of musicians who bring depth and deliver some really great solos! The title track is an incredible 10 minute cut that breaks ... LP, Vinyl record album
