Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play,
but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic,
with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a
cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner
and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay,
though probably with surface noise.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
One of the last albums that Rufus and Chaka Khan ever recorded together – and one of the best, as well! The set's a surprisingly great blend of live material and studio cuts – concert material taking up three sides of the 2LP set, and studio tracks on the last side – working ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of our favorite albums ever from Rufus and Chaka Khan – a sublime 70s set in which the group's sound totally comes together, and finds a really special sound that's all its own! The blend of elements here is perfect – the group's funky jazz instrumentation, and Chaka Khan's warm ... LP, Vinyl record album
Damn great work from The Dramatics – a group who never seemed to miss at all during their massive 70s run – and one who really knew how to hold onto an edge in their vocals, and most of their grooves as well! The main maestro here is Don Davis – one of the few late 70s producers ... LP, Vinyl record album
A pretty great little album from the Four Tops – the kind of excellent sleeper that shows how strong the group stayed year after year! At some level, the album's got a similar relation to the group's Motown career as do Lamont Dozier's albums at ABC – and the arrangements by Gil Askey, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wild work by Charles Wright – recorded in the post-103rd Street Rhythm Band years, with a really trippy sound! The album's got a few really messed up numbers – ones that have Charles ranting and grooving with incredible energy, especially on the cuts "90 Day Cycle People" and ... LP, Vinyl record album
Pretty nice 70's female soul stuff, recorded by a woman that we know nothing about, and with arrangements by Michael Omartian. The groove is very nice, in sort of a First Choice kind of way, and the tracks include "Superbad", "Don't Mistreat My Babies", "Did I Give Up Much ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic album of soul duets – and one of the deeper records cut by Betty during the 60s! The arrangements are by the great Marty Paich, and although there's some singers in the background, the overall sound is still pretty nice and soulful. Betty's high voice works well with Ray's raspy ... LP, Vinyl record album
Stunning work from Rufus & Chaka Khan – still very much at the height of their powers on this late 70s release – and still doing things at a level that nobody else can touch! The blend of jazz and soul is completely sublime – given a bit of extra help on arrangements by Clare ... LP, Vinyl record album
A batch of some soulful, soft rock tunes from the Faragher Bros. Tracks include "The Best Years Of My Life", "Never Get Your Love Behind Me", "Please Hurry Up", "Losing Cause", "You Touched Me", "Go Where We Want To", and "Give It ... LP, Vinyl record album
Their classic, with the great long version of "Float On", which is a monster soul cut that stands tall with steppers and rappers alike. It's probably the best track they ever did, and it's all here in a version that's nearly 12 minutes long – with loads of samples that you'll ... LP, Vinyl record album
A stunning standout from Ray Charles' years on ABC Records – and a set that brings in a bit of hard-swinging jazz to the country-styled groove Ray was hitting at the time! Backings are by Ralph Burns, who keeps things pretty hip – not as modern as some of his 50s charts for other ... LP, Vinyl record album
