Love Fantasy (double a-side single)

12-inch (Item 27241) Polydor, 1980 — Condition: Very Good+
$7.99 ...

12-inch, Vinyl record

(€6.83 || £6.10 || ¥881) (approx.)

A great track from Roy Ayers – and one that's often overlooked! The cut's a smooth mellow stepper, with a nice jazzy vibe, and a wonderful monologue from Roy at the beginning (he's trying to pick up a girl). The cut got kind of buried on the Love Fantasy LP – so it's extra nice to have on this rare original promo single! (White label promo in a Polydor sleeve.)  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Doobie-doo doobie-doo! One of the catchiest Roy Ayers dancefloor tracks ever – a bassy bumping thumper that wonderfully skirts the line between clubby and funky! A nice jazzy groover from Roy – lifted off his Uno Melodic LP, and offered here in long and short versions! The track's kind of up there with some of Roy's nice dancefloor tracks from the late 70s on Polydor – and it's one of the few 12" singles you'll ever find by him! 12-inch, Vinyl record

The title track from the one and only album by B&G Rhythm – a nicely snapping number with great Wayne Henderson production, and a spacey blend of jazz and funk that would be right at home on Fantasy Records!
