TV's Greatest Detective Hits

LP (Item 2438) Mercury, 1976 — Condition: Very Good+

Excellent work from Brit easy bandleader John Gregory – an assortment of 70s police and crime themes, played by a big band with a nice soundtrack-y finish! Nearly all the tunes are uptempo, and the feel of the record is very much in the same vein as Henry Mancini's Cop Show Themes album – although perhaps with a bit less electronics. Titles include "Theme From SWAT", "Harry O", "Streets Of San Francisco", "Cannon", "Rockford Files", "Kojak", "McCloud", "Police Woman", and "Six-Million Dollar Man".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Another Taste Of Honey
Liberty, Mid 60s. Near Mint-
A sweet follow up to Martin Denny's Taste Of Honey album – one that's got a great blend of piano, vibes, and percussion – all used in a way that's almost more jazz-like than some of Denny's earlier work! Ok, since the label makes the claim that this one "Greatly Enhances Lovemaking and Mind Control", we should probably be offering it at a fortune, but it's still going for the same price as the others. Contains "Ultimate Heartbeat" (playable at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm) and "Wind ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of their Philips LPs, with more of a late 60's easy feel than their 70's funk LPs, but still a nice easy sound by the group that pioneered the genre. Tracks include "Shane", "Theme From A Summer Place", "Nevada Smith", and "Invitation". LP, Vinyl record album

A masterpiece of exotica! One of Martin Denny's greatest albums – thanks to some extra special added elements! For the record, Denny's classic quartet is augmented by a wealth of odd added percussion – including gongs, cymbals, tuned logs, steel drums, chimes, and "chromatic bamboo"! All of these ...
