Jack Teagarden sings and swings on trombone – that unique groove that was a key updating of his trad style in these later years! As you might guess from the title, the album's made mostly of tunes from spiritual sources – swung in tighter jazzy styles by arranger Van Alexander, who brings in some occasional vocal chorus bits from time to time – sung by doo wop legends The Five Keys!
