Adios Amigo

LP (Item 23819) London, 1976 — Condition: Near Mint-
Obscure little record – and supposedly the soundtrack to a western comedy directed by and starring Fred Williamson (Black Caesar), and featuring Richard Pryor and James Brown! The band is more soul than blues, and is produced with kind of a funky pop soul sound, with guitar and electric keyboards backing the vocals up. Titles include "Ju Ju", "Write Me A Letter", "When Love Calls Your Name", "Adios Amigo", and "Needing You (Wanting You, Loving You)".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a cut corner and is lightly bent and wavy at the corners.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Press Records/London (UK), Early 1960s. Very Good+
Hard rockin party soul from the legendary Flares – a sock-soul west coast group who flourished briefly in the early 60s! It's Just Begun
RCA, 1972. Near Mint-
Wickedly fuzzy funk! Jimmy Castor recorded in a lot of different styles during the 70s – but the one he used on this album is still his best – and the album may well be his lasting testament of funky genius! The record's a non-stop guitar-heavy batch of classic funk tracks – and ... LP, Vinyl record album

An excellent batch of hard soul grooves from the great Laura Lee! Miracles

Do It Baby
Motown, 1974. Very Good-
It's the mid 70s, and The Miracles have been deserted by Smokey – but fortunately the group was extremely well trained in the harmony department, and this album's just about as good as anything they did with him on Motown! The record's got an excellent smooth harmony soul style – and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Pretty groovy stuff – even if it is a big shift for Polnareff! Polnareff began his career as a cool French popster – singing in a style that mixed baroque 60s arrangements with the intimacy of folk.
