Night At Studio 54

LP (Item 23610) Casablanca, 1979 — Condition: Very Good+
2LP Gatefold
Here you go – everything you'll need to recreate the magic of the old days, except the cocaine! 2LPs worth of classic club tracks – including "In The Bush" by Musique, "YMCA" by Village People, "Let's All Chant" by Michael Zager Band, "Hot Shot" by Karen Young, "Got To Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn, "Hot Jungle Drums" by DC La Rue, "Le Freak" by Chic, and "Disco Nights" by GQ.  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has light surface wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Warner, 1979. Near Mint-
Nice disco stuff from Alan Hawkshaw! Hawkshaw arranged and produced the whole record – and it's got lots of sexy keyboard and production work. Skyy
Salsoul, 1979. Near Mint-
Sure, at the time the group's silly costumes and slap-bass funk sound were a bit too much to take – but from the perspective of a few decades later, they actually had a pretty darn nice 80s groove kind of sound, and this first album's not a bad one for the dancefloor. Moody atmospherics from the second wave of ECM – a spacious trio outing that features Charlie Haden on bass, Jan Garbarek on saxophones, and Egberto Gismonti on guitars and piano. Lean, righteous blowing from the legendary Frank Foster – one of a handful of extremely hip sessions he cut in the 60s under his own name!
