One of the Beasties goofiest 12's – and with three non-lp tracks! "Some Dumb Cop Gave Me Two Tickets Already" also known as "Mike D's In Love" is a take off of a Barry White style rap by Mike D monologue with his voice slowed way down. "Your Sister's Def" sounds like it was taken from some demo tape sent in to them. "Caught In the Middle of a Three Way Mix" is about their troubles on the subway, including a run-in with Bernard Goetz. "And What You Give Is What You Get" is an intrumental of Shadrach with some added instrumentation and effects. Plus "Shadrach" and "Car Thief" from the Paul's Boutique.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Our favorite track from the Likwidation LP. Spare beats with a staccato piano line throughout plus the sound of rolling bottles as percussion, with a great appearance by the late great ODB! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Doobie-doo doobie-doo! One of the catchiest Roy Ayers dancefloor tracks ever – a bassy bumping thumper that wonderfully skirts the line between clubby and funky! The track's got female vocals singing along with the hook – all in a mode that's quite similar to the most uptempo work by ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

An undisputed Chi House classic! The hard drums and bubbly electronics of this one make it a killer, and leave it sounding even fresher today than when it first came out. Lead vocals by Keith Nunnally are extremely soulful – with a great sound that gives the cut a lot more bottom than some ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
