Gentle Is My Love

LP (Item 23595) Capitol, Late 60s — Condition: Very Good+

A bit lusher, and a bit more pop-vocal oriented than some of Nancy's other Capitol albums – this one has arrangements by Sid Feller, and a rich string-laden sound that's nicely juxtaposed against Nancy's soulful vocals. Titles include "Gentle Is My Love", "When He Makes Music", "Funnier Than Funny", "If Love Is Good To Me", and "More". (Stereo pressing.)  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A great later set from Nancy Wilson – recorded in Japan with arrangements by pianist Masahiko Satoh, but in a warmly glowing mode that's right in step with Nancy's maturing vocal style! Broadway My Way
Capitol, 1963. Very Good

Easy
Capitol, Late 60s. Very Good
Killer 60s work from Nancy! Despite the "easy" in the title, this record's a perfect batch of pop soul tunes – arranged by Jimmy Jones with a breezy style that works perfectly for Nancy's voice. The record features her big hit "Face it Girl, It's Over", which was ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sinatra at his lonely best – as emphasized by the cover image, which has him sitting alone at a bar, looking sadly into his drink.
