Definitivamente

LP (Item 23296) RCA (Brazil), 1974 — Condition: Very Good
Gatefold
Fantastic 70s material by this unique Brazilian combo! The sound is perhaps a bit less funky than some of their other records, but the songwriting is excellent, and the production is top notch – in a way that opens up the voices and gives the record a lot more soul than usual. Filled with beautiful tracks of subtle beauty – and titles that include "Dona Flor E Seus Dois Maridos", "Sexto Sentido", "Chuculatera", "Toro De Lagrimas", "Maldita Hora", and "Diacho De Dor", with a guest appearance by Maria Crueza.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Miucha & Antonio Carlos Jobim
RCA (Brazil), 1977. Very Good
A pretty darn sweet vocal session from the duo of Miucha and Antonio Carlos Jobim – recorded with lots of bossa overtones, very much the same spirit as the legendary Elis & Tom album of the mid 70s! Chico Buarque participates in the session, and Jobim even lends his vocal talents to a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tight orchestral material from Zaccarias, and featuring a set of bossa and samba groovers played by a heavy ensemble reed section. The multiple reed approach works well, and gives the tracks a good punch that while not sounding exactly like classic bossa, does make them groove in a swinging way. ... LP, Vinyl record album

Fool On The Hill
A&M, 1968. Very Good+ Gatefold
One of our favorite albums by Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 – a perfect bridge between the simple pop of earlier records, and the group's expanding sound as the 70s approached! The warmly glowing Brasil 66 style is still very strongly in place, but the music here is all a bit hipper – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Dreamy bossa pop from the A&M studios of the 60s – the Brasil 66 sound at its best! Dreamy loveliness from Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66!
