More Today Than Yesterday

LP (Item 2222) Audio Fidelity, Late 60s — Condition: Sealed

Obscure pop/soul release recorded for Audio Fidelity, with arrangements by Coleridge Perkinson. Babs runs through a set of mostly pop stuff, like "Windows of the World" and "Didn't We", but there's also some originals like "I Can Tell" and "Something Happy".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Shrinkwrap has sticker remnants.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A massive album by Lamont Dozier – probably his best ever! Every cut's a winner, and the LP shines with a sharpness and tightness that's missing from some of Lamont's other LPs from the 70s. Thelma Houston

Sunshower
Dunhill, 1969. Near Mint-
A pretty darn amazing album from Thelma Houston – recorded during the zenith of Jimmy Webb's career, when Jimmy was not only one of the hippest songwriters in pop, but also kind of a mini-Burt Bacharach, writing, arranging, and conducting albums for a variety of stars. This little gem ... LP, Vinyl record album

BB & Q Band

All Night Long
Capitol, 1982. Near Mint-
A great album of bass-heavy 80s groove tracks – and the second release by the oft-overlooked BB&Q Band! The record mixes up some nice keyboards with a spacey early breakdance sound, and they sound great over the group's tight rhythm, and surprisingly soulful vocals. The band was one of ... Motown, 1985. Near Mint-
By this point in their career, The Commodores have lost Lionel Richie and any sort of funk credibility they had from their early years – but they also somehow manage to reemerge with a great new talent for a sweet mellow groove!
